Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitors

                      Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are heart-medications that widen or dilate your blood vessels to improve the amount of blood your heart pumps and lower blood pressure. ACE inhibitors also increase blood flow, which helps to decrease the amount of work your heart has to do. So it is used in treatment of hypertension (elevated blood pressure) and congestive heart failure.

Uses
1. Hypertension
2. Acute myocardial infarction (heart attack)
3. Cardiac failure (left ventricular systolic dysfunction)
4. Kidney complications of diabetes mellitus (diabetic nephropathy)

Adverse Effects
- Hypotension
- Cough
- Hyperkalemia
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Nausea and
- Renal impairment.
